What is PM MITRA?
PM MITRA (Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel) is a flagship scheme of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, implemented in collaboration with State Governments. It aims to establish seven world-class integrated textile parks that bring the entire value chain from spinning and weaving to processing and garmenting within a single location
Integration of the value chain is expected to reduce logistics costs, attract investments, boost exports, and enhance global competitiveness. The scheme is structured to create large-scale, plug-and-play textile parks with strong economic and employment outcomes.
Challenge method to select the sites
- 18 proposals for PM MITRA parks received from 13 States.
- Eligible States and sites evaluated using a Challenge Method based on objective criteria such as connectivity, existing ecosystem, textile/industry policy, infrastructure, utility services etc.
- Gati Shakti tool used for validation.
